MedOptima Medical Practice Clients Outperform Industry Billing Performance Benchmarks
Proactive business approach boosts financial performance in tough times

FORT WAYNE, IND., December 7, 2009 - - At a time when many medical practices are experiencing a decline in earnings, clients of MedOptima are bucking the poor economy and other challenges and enjoying billing performance that exceeds key industry benchmarks. The net result is more revenue and faster cash flow on the same volume of business.

The Fort Wayne-based physician billing and consulting firm reports that its medical practice clients are outperforming three benchmarks set forth by the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), a national organization committed to the improvement of medical group practice professionals. MedOptima medical practice clients experience a 98.4 percent first pass cleans claims rate versus the industry average of 90 to 92 percent. The mean net collection percentage of MedOptima clients is 100 percent versus the MGMA net collection mean of 96.7 percent. MedOptima clients also have of median of 34.3 days in accounts receivable versus the MGMA median of 43.9 days, a difference of almost 10 days.*
