Q. When do I call the MedOptima billing office instead of my doctor's office? 
A. The MedOptima billing office can answer billing related questions as well as set up payment arrangements and take credit card payments. We will also update your insurance information should you have a change in insurance carriers. You will still contact your doctor's office for test results, prescription refills, and to schedule or cancel appointments.

Q. What information do I need when I call the MedOptima billing office?
A. Your call is important to us. To help make the call go smoothly and to minimize your time on the phone, please have the following information ready:

  • The name of the office or doctor that you saw and your account number.
  • Copies of your insurance cards.
  • Copies of any Explanations of Benefits from your insurance carrier you would like to discuss.

Q. When should I contact my insurance company instead of the MedOptima billing office?
A.  Contact your insurance company anytime you have a question about how the insurance company issued benefits on the services you received from your physician. You may also need to contact your insurance company to provide accident details, full-time student information, or information regarding other coverage you or a dependent may have. Make sure you have all of your paperwork ready to help make the call go smoothly.

MedOptima is in the process of adding a patient portal with an online bill pay solution for our clients. Patients of participating MedOptima clients will be given secure login information on your billing statement. This will take you to a secure page where you can pay your bill by credit card.
